Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences for a period of time.

2. Types of cookies we use

• Strictly necessary — for the cart, checkout and security; cannot be disabled;
• Functional — remember language, country and preferences;
• Authentication — via Google Firebase, to keep your session after sign-in;
• Analytics — Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) helps us understand how the site is used through visit statistics, only with your consent;
• Advertising (marketing) — the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) measures the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram and lets us show you relevant ads, only with your consent; with the same consent, our server also sends data about your visit and purchases to Meta through the Conversions API (see below).

Analytics and advertising cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you decline, they are not set and no data is sent to Google Analytics or Meta.

3. Advertising cookies — Meta Pixel and Conversions API

If you accept advertising cookies in the banner, we load the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., the company behind Facebook and Instagram. The pixel tells Meta which pages and products you view, what you add to your cart or wishlist, when you start checkout and when you complete a purchase (product IDs, quantities, value in euros and an order reference). We use this to measure how effective our ads are (conversion measurement) and to show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited the store (retargeting). If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta may link this information to your account.

With the same consent, our server also sends these events directly to Meta through the Meta Conversions API, for more accurate measurement. Each event carries the same ID as the matching pixel event, so Meta counts it only once. For product views, additions to the cart or wishlist and the start of checkout, our server forwards the product IDs, quantities and value together with your IP address, your browser's user agent, the page address and the _fbp and _fbc identifiers. When you place an order, it sends the purchase (order number, value in euros, products and quantities) with the same technical data and with your email address, phone number, first and last name, and the city, postal code and country of delivery; these details, and your customer-account ID if you are signed in, are hashed with SHA-256 before they leave our server. Meta may use them to link the events to your Facebook or Instagram account; we use them to measure and optimise our ads on Facebook and Instagram. We keep the IP address, user agent, page address and _fbp/_fbc identifiers with the order for at most 8 days and only in order to send the purchase to Meta. If you withdraw your consent (“Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page), our server stops sending data to Meta for your further visits and orders.

• _fbp — set on the bellaviere.com domain, holds a unique identifier for your browser used by Meta, kept for about 90 days;
• _fbc — set on the bellaviere.com domain when you arrive through a Facebook or Instagram ad link, holds the ad-click identifier (fbclid) so Meta can attribute your visit to the ad, kept for about 90 days;
• fr — set on the facebook.com domain, used by Meta to deliver and measure ads, kept for about 90 days.

4. Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by our service providers (e.g. Firebase for sign-in and myPOS at payment) and, only with your consent, by Google Analytics and Meta (see above). These are governed by the respective providers' policies.

5. Retention

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies are kept for a set period or until you delete them: the Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) for up to 2 years, the Meta Pixel cookies (_fbp, _fbc, fr) for about 90 days, and other persistent cookies typically for up to 12 months.

6. Managing cookies

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, as easily as you gave it: click “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. You can accept or decline all analytics and advertising cookies, or choose each category separately under “Settings”. If you decline after having accepted, the Meta Pixel stops sending data to Meta, our server sends nothing to Meta for your further visits and orders (a purchase you had already placed with consent may still be reported to Meta), and the Google Analytics and Meta Pixel cookies on bellaviere.com (_ga, _ga_*, _fbp, _fbc) are deleted. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the store.

In your Facebook or Instagram account settings you can also control how Meta uses your data to show you ads.

7. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page.
